Meet Our Chefs
Chef Marcos
Chef Marcos Juarez has been with Hidden Omakase since November 2022 and came to us most recently from Uchi where he spent a large portion of his career – assisting in the opening of the Denver location, then Miami before returning to Houston. Chef Marcos grew up in Lubbock with six siblings. His oldest sister was always cooking for him and that’s where his passion started. They still cook Thanksgiving together annually.
Three weeks after graduating high school, he headed to Austin to go to culinary school and got his associate degree from the Art Institute of Austin. When in school he took a Japanese course and realized he really wanted to work in this industry and started researching. He worked and learned under amazing chefs for five years at Austin’s APPLE campus but he wanted to make the switch to Japanese/Sushi cuisine. Chef Marcos got a job at a mom and pop sushi restaurant called Sushi NiNi in Austin and from there moved around before starting at the coveted Uchi in 2017 where he learned from the best.
Chef Marcos brings his 14 years of experience to Hidden Omakase, he enjoys collaborating with the rest of the team, sharing his love of cooking this style of food with Houstonians.
